Magnificent Mammals
  • The Hike - We begin the program on a hike through one of our trails in Kenter Canyon. While hiking, we teach the group about the wildlife currently inhabiting the canyon. We will learn about the circle of life and how it affects the animals. We also look at the different plant life growing, learning which animals are herbivores and carnivores.
  • Activities - Children will then play challenging activities such as: Predator/Pray and The Web of Life. During these activities we will get a more "hands on" look at what animals eat.
  • Animal Center - We visit the Tumbleweed Nature Center, which houses a variety of animals. We engage in a hands-on discussion about mammal characteristics. In the nature center we will also get to build an animal habitat on paper using materials from nature such as sticks, grass, leaves, and whatever else they can find.
