Typical Day at Tumbleweed South
Our younger campers start the day off with morning round-up where they join their counselors and groups and greet each other with songs and laughter. A typical day consists of five periods of various traditional and unique day camp activities. Each day will always include swimming and lunch. Activities alternate between high and low energy. In the afternoon, our campers enjoy a snack and get ready for afternoon round-up where they sit with their bus route and participate in skits and songs through dismissal.
We like to keep our ratios low at Tumbleweed South to ensure our young campers are getting the support they need to feel comfortable. Our groups are led by two incredibly well trained counselors. In addition, each group will also have a Counselor in Training to assist the group.
Each week at Tumbleweed will have a unique twist while keeping true to our core values. One week you may find campers playing Gaga as wizards, the next you may find Captain Planet talking to the campers about taking care of our beautiful canyon. You can see this summer's planned Theme Weeks here.
Growing up Tumbleweed
At Tumbleweed South, our experienced staff is focused on helping our young campers develop the skills they need to make life long friends. By the time your camper moves up to Tumbleweed North, camp will feel like home to them and they can continue to develop their social intelligence, grit, zest, and all of those other skills we think are so important!
